We tend to underrate Woody Allen's body of work. I know, as an actor he is pretty 'one note', but so are a lot of actors. As a director he has extended himself far beyond his acting, and he is not too bad as a writer. He wrote and directed this film and it takes place in Barcelona. Great cast. We have Scarlett Johansson, Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, and a newcomer, British actress Rebecca Hall. All do a great job. This is not exactly a serious movie, the characters themselves know they are not forming lasting relationships. It is a travelogue for Barcelona and Spain and a showcase for some good dialogue and good presentation. It is bright and sunny and fun. You can't say that about a lot of movies. See it on the big screen if you can.
