Momma Mia

We saw the musical on stage in Toronto, where it is a huge hit. The musical was better. The whole plot is a little silly and on screen it doesn't hold up as well. And they leave out songs. And the movie musical concept of 'breaking into song' at romantic moments just seems wrong, where on stage it seems more normal. That said, the movie was fun. Nothing serious, but the Abba songs are always fun. I understand that now there is a version of the movie that is a 'sing-along' with the words to the songs run across the bottom of the screen. I guess I really, deep down, knew that Abba songs had words, but I never knew that meant anything.
